Man Can’t Understand Why Video From 10 Years Ago Looks Dated But Didn’t Look Dated At The Time

“So… is now dated then?” asked James Molloy, locking eyes with an increasingly weary Dr. Harold Murphy, as he once again attempted to understand why photos from ten years ago look so out of date, despite looking perfectly fine at the time.

“James, as I told you during your last visit, there are many reasons why things look old-fashion, image resolution, interior design, style. In ten years, yes, you will look dated,” Dr. Murphy explained, trying to remain composed.

“But what if I didn’t wear any clothes, stood in front of a plain background, and used the best camera available? Would I still look dated then?” Molloy pressed on, eyes now fixed on a mysterious water stain on the ceiling.

“Yes, James. You would look younger – and therefore, dated. Dated in the future,” Murphy replied, through gritted teeth.

“Right, but then how come when I watch the current news from places like Russia – or some backwards country like that – it already looks dated? Are they living in the past, or does time just move quicker there and they age into the past?” James asked, dead serious.

“Mr. Molloy, please,” Dr. Murphy sighed, visibly pained. “We really need to move on from this. The conversation itself is becoming a bit… dated.”

“Nah, man, there’s something to it,” James insisted, animated now. “I watched videos on my phone from last year – they look grand. Still in-date, like yoghurt. Then boom, I watch a video from ten years ago, and it’s ancient. There’s something there. Guarantee you CERN or some shit will find it, and you’ll be like, ‘Ah feck, James was right and I fobbed him off!’”

“Okay, James,” Dr. Murphy said with forced calm, glancing at the file. “Now, back to why you’re actually here. Have you ever had any root canals done before?”
