“Where Did We Go Wrong Margaret?” Ponders Local Father Watching 40-Year-Old Son Trying To Become Gamer Youtuber
LOCAL DUBLIN parents Noel and Margaret Gorman are struggle to adjust to the news that their 40-year-old son, Michael, is attempting to parlay filming videos of himself playing games into a career.
“You know I look at them young fella getting jail for lighting a Luas on fire during the Dublin riots and I’ll honest, I envy their parents, how lucky they are to saved from this shameful stuff. Where did we go wrong at all?” shared Noel as his face contorted in agony as his adult son put on an Americanised accent while discussing something called ‘Elder Scrolls’.
“Ah Noel, you think I understand any of it? Why can’t he have a normal midlife crisis like John Dunne across the way. Stripping naked on the M50 and masturbating while high on LSD is something you can get your mind around, but this shite, it says here 23 people have viewed it and it’s been up for a month. My knitting video on Facebook get more than that. I told we should have hit him as a child but would you listen, no,” responded Margaret.
In an effort reassure his parents, Michael spoke at length about prominent YouTubers in a bid to explain to his septuagenarian parents that it is a viable career.
“We know who Jacksepticeye and Markiplier are you fool, but you’ve none of their easy charm and charisma never mind the head for business. Would you not consider getting into the anti-immigrant podcast space? It’s much easier to break into and you don’t need talent,” countered Michael’s parents, beside themselves with worry that their son was wasting his life.
