Poll: What Would You Spend €172k Embezzled From A Charity On If You Were An Ex-Fine Gael Councillor?
JAILED FOR two years and 9 months for stealing €172,000 from a housing charity and spending the money on various things including male prostitutes from South America as well as the A-to-Z of illegal drugs, former Fine Gael councillor Seán McKiernan becomes the latest former politician to enter jail.
Which begs the question, if you were morally bankrupt and had no compunction when it came to stealing €172k from charity, what would you do with it?
Note: McKiernan is not to be confused with another Fine Gael councillor currently embroiled in the Garda corruption trial in Limerick in which the councillor is alleged otherwise have asked for speeding fines to be cancelled.
Note: McKiernan is not to be confused with the former Fine Gael councillor who was jailed in a €2.6mn money laundering case. That is Frank Kilbride.
Note: McKiernan is not to be confused with the former Fine Gael election candidate who was jailed for their part in a €400,000 social welfare fraud case. That is Lyndsey Clarke.
Note: McKiernan is not to be confused with the former Fine Gael minister found by the Moriarty Tribunal to have ‘secured the winning’ of a mobile licence for businessman Denis O’Brien and was in receipt of payment from O’Brien totalling £500,000. That’s Michael Lowry and he’s currently propping up the coalition government.
