Local Lad Wont Shut The Fuck Up Talking About AI
“WE ACTUALLY think he may have been compromised by some kind of AI tech,” friends of Dermot Handley wrote in a heartfelt statement after attempting to have the 34-year-old sectioned under the Mental Health Act, following several agonising months of constant artificial intelligence talk.
Sparked last year by the wave of AI-generated content, the once-normal Handley appeared to transform overnight into a fountain of unwanted AI knowledge, endlessly unloading it on unwilling friends and family members.
“He hasn’t had a non-AI conversation in about 15 months now,” said long-time friend Kevin Casey. “He doesn’t even pause between sentences anymore. It’s just a stream of how AI helps him in everyday life and how it’s going to change the world. It’s like Dermot died a long time ago and was replaced with a terrible update of ChatGPT.”
“I literally can’t have a shit without Dermot suggesting an AI app for it,” said another friend, who was once advised by Handley to try StoolAI Imaging to check for any digestive issues.
In a small breakthrough earlier this month, Handley’s closest friends staged an intervention in a last-ditch effort to snap him out of the obsession.
“Basically, it ended with him finding an AI app that helps him stop talking about AI. It’s a start, we suppose,” the group said in a joint statement.
