Reason Parents Got Married Has No Idea Why Parents Got Married

“AH LOVE AT first sight it was for me and your father, hah!” confirmed local mother Caroline Staffen, answering a question posed by the actual reason she got married, her eldest daughter Ciara.

Frustrated by the ever-present animosity, bickering and ill-feeling which permeates the family home any time she comes home to visit, Ciara expressed her exasperation by questioning why two diametrically different people would ever agree to marry one another if they are so obviously ill-suited.

“Yeah that’s it Ciara, we’re married for 33 years and 3 months because we’re soulmates,” added Tom, trying to spell out the reason in the least emotionally devastating fashion to his 33-year-old daughter.

“You love a good pondering Ciara, thinking things over, asking endless fecking questions so riddle me this; how indeed could a scenario transpire where two strangers – one a young woman who hoped to finish her law degree and the other a useless fucking sack of shite of a man who never cleans up after himself – ever feel compelled to marry?” added Caroline, more keen on delivering the news in emotionally devastating fashion.

Content that their daughter now had the full picture, Caroline and Tom went back to loudly arguing over something trivial domestic matter in the way only a couple thrown together by an unplanned pregnancy after a one night stand can.

“No, honestly, I’ve no idea why you got married seriously,” added Ciara, prompting Caroline to state that her daughter got her brains and talent for missing the point from her father’s side of the family.
