TONIGHT’S unique celestial spectacle, the so-called ‘Pie Chart Moon’ will be visible over Irish skies from 10pm as the position of the moon in relation to the Earth, Sun and Mars creates three

While meteorology nerds enjoy the visual feast, astrologists continue to warn the public and speculate on the effects the PCM has on people.

“It can prompt three different mood swings due to the astral influence of three converging entities, so you could be irritable, happy and depressed is quick succession, but the PCM also acts as an excuse if you want to blame your shitty behaviour on something,” explained PCM expert Virginia Roper.

“During the last Pie Chart Moon in 1993 I remember someone stared directly at the biggest portion and then could only ever eat food that was the exact same shape, it had an awful affect on him, pizza slices was all he could survive on,” explained fellow PCM expert, Bridget Luna.

Visible for most of the night, the PCM should be viewed with caution according to experts.

“Some people report hallucinating, some say they see detailed statistical breakdowns and statistics which are easy to comprehend,” explained one Met Éireann official.

“I just find it makes me want to eat pies,” confirmed local hungry man, Sean Halloran.
