New App Matches Dubliners With Culchies Who Love To Hear The Phrase ‘Story Bud?’
A PAID for app launched earlier this month is already exceeding early revenue projections, as the appetite among some culchies to have a Dubliner on call at any time to utter the words ‘story bud?’ proves insatiable.
“I got the idea from when me ex used to drunk dial me in the wee small hours, she was from Clare, she’d beg me to say it. Next thing I know she’d passed by number on to a few other culchies and here we are now, a staff of 10 of the most thick-accented Dubs and we have plans to expand,” said owner of ‘Bud’ app Declan ‘Deco’ Twomey.
“Initial sign ups to the app mistakenly thought ‘Bud’ signified the bud of a flower, about to bloom like y’know, romance can bloom, but then they were inundated with dirty Dublin voice memos. But all apps have teething problems,” explained Twomey.
Offering a monthly subscription service at €9.99 per month, so far 33,000 customers have pressed the ‘Story Bud?’ request feature an average of 19 times a week.
“We provide a safe space for culchies who can’t admit it among family and friends but grow weak at the knees at the mere whiff of a Dublin accent thicker than coagulated coddle”.
“To culchies in Dublin, it’s an ear ache, it’s sandpaper on the ear drums but those who don’t venture up to the Big Shmoke much it’s a novelty, a pick me up, a laugh and to the truly perverted, a turn on,” concluded Twomey.
