Dublin Girl Can’t Believe It Has Been 1 Year Since Her ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ Status Got 130 Likes

DUBLIN girl Emer Reilly was shocked, surprised and moved to discover that it has been 12 long months since she posted her Boko Haram related status which garnered a whopping 130 likes on Facebook.

Emer was saddened when she realised that despite posting a ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ related status a full 365 days ago, she has since failed to better her like count on subsequent statuses even though she had posted a number of summer bikini pictures.

“It’s mad how time flies,” Emer shared with her friend Ciara, “that was just before I dyed my hair dark again, and that profile photo only got like 70 likes, mad what people will like more for some reason”.

The popular status was accompanied by a photo of 70s prog-rock music group Procol Harum, and contained well thought out copy and pasted text from another friend’s status which decried the crimes perpetrated by Boko Haram.

In a sobering moment, Emer acknowledged to Ciara how lucky she was when she realised that many of the girls kidnapped by “Pokemon Haram have probably been helped by my status” since they were presumably freed at some point in the last 12 months.

Emer posted another status remarking on how so much can change in a year, confirming how thankful she was for friends who regularly like and comment on her statuses.

“It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice,” Emer’s status read, “which is why I’m saying a little thanks to everyone”.

The 24-year-old’s mood would change somewhat when this latest status would only pick up 12 likes, forcing her to post a flurry of additional posts to gain the required attention.

“Some people are so selfish, you go out there and thank them and they don’t even like it,” Emer told Ciara while also asking her to make sure to comment on the status.
