Man Confident He Won’t Regret Spending €500 To Watch Liam Gallagher Half-Heartedly Shake Tambourine
A LOCAL WATERFORD man hovering over the purchase button on his €500 plus booking fees ticket to see Oasis in Slane is confident he will not regret squinting at a nonchalant Liam Gallagher several hundreds yards away shaking a tambourine out of time, WWN can reveal.
“Fucking yes! Get in!” confirmed Dan O’Byrne quietly enough as not to alert his wife to the fact he’d spent the sort of money they could always do with in the joint account.
Despite much consternation from other fans as to the various prices of tickets for the upcoming Oasis tour, O’Byrne has explained that his viewpoint on the whole thing is very different.
“No, see it’s great because it’s so long away the mind does this clever thing where it doesn’t feel like any money was spent when it actually comes around to the gig next year,” said O’Byrne tapping his temple as if he was delivering some sage wisdom.
Having missed out on the Croke Park gigs last year, the 38-year-old O’Byrne was never going to entertain the idea of missing out again.
“I was sick of all my friends who were saying how class it was to be really drunk and have only vague memories of the night other than screaming-singing over the band for Don’t Look Back In Anger,” added O’Byrne, who was assured that the younger Gallagher brother’s disinterested tambourine shaking has never been better.
While O’Byrne didn’t want to hoping for too much but said that if luck was on his side next year he might get close up to the front of the stage for someone in the pit to lob a plastic pint cup full of urine over his section of the crowd.
