Nation Stunned To Discover An Garda Síochána Run Like Every Other Irish Institution
COVER-UPS, bullying, failures in safety and protocol and mismanagement from the top down; these are just some of the things the Irish public has come to expect from its institutions, and of course An Garda Síochána, WWN reports.
“To think people holding some of the most powerful positions in the country are acting like people holding some of the most powerful positions in the country is mind blowing,” voiced one shocked citizen we spoke to this morning. “This abuse of power can only be called one thing; Irish!”
RTÉ Investigates spoke to several high profile personnel who worked in the Whistleblower Unit, who then blew the whistle on how whistleblowers’ whistleblowing wasn’t being treated seriously, only for those Whistleblower Unit whistleblowers to become targeted themselves by the very institution they worked for after coming forward in a moment of whistleblowing Inception.
“So basically like most civil servant institutions then?” pointed out another commentator, like many, unfazed by the level of cover-ups and corruption inside the long-list of Government and Irish institutions over the last few decades.
Ireland, with its long history of not instituting well, has grown so accustomed to its own inability to run departments without some kind of major scandal, it is now expected to simply shrug off this latest report, much like it does with everything else.
“Look, if investigations costing the state broadcaster tens of thousands keeps a few people chatting on social media for a few hours before they forget it all again, then it’s well worth continuing, even if all it does is further endanger the lives of the touts coming forward,” an official statement from An Garda Síochána read on the matter this morning.
