Woman’s Motivation Plummets After Discovering Teenage YouTuber Makes €1mn A Year Ranking Pokémon

TRY AS SHE might, local worker Ciara Templeton just isn’t in the mood to work to her full potential today after learning that there are YouTubers out there earning millions from videos in which they say ‘Charizard goes hard, but Pigeot goes harder’.

Questioning every facet of this bullshit capitalist society that rewards her with a low five-figure entry level salary for her role, Templeton is about as motivated as a polar bear on an ice hunt in the desert.

“The fuck is this shit,” repeated Templeton to herself, despite a full week elapsing since her sister showed her the Youtube channel of a friend of their American cousin who has bought a house off ‘Is Mewtwo misunderstood?’ videos.

“Look I get it, I’ve basically stopped working but can you blame me, I’m on 23k and this prick here, he just bought a boat and his job is to talk about what Pokémon would be Kendall Roy in Succession,” Templeton said, holding up a video on her phone, in the middle of a performance review with her boss.

Templeton’s frustrations are said to be emblematic of a workforce questioning the how undervalued their labour is, and how dysfunctional and unjust the world around them is.

In a bid to soften the blow that this is the way things are and that it’s never going to change, Templeton’s bosses organised a fun lunchtime quiz with a prize of a half-day off for the winner.
