Ireland’s First Data Centra Opens To The Public

A MAJOR new player has entered the information storage game and it now comes with a deli counter, WWN can reveal.

Centra, the beloved convenience shop chain, has announced the construction of its first data centre and they aren’t messing about.

“Some people running data centres will make outlandish claims about permanent jobs, but none of them has what Data Centra has; a data centre that is staffed 24/7 with the finest chicken fillet roll engineers in the land,” head of Musgraves’ Do We Really Need This? business unit, Carmel Roche told WWN.

The first so-called Data Centra will operate in an isolated business park in Offaly and will mainly store Centra’s vast logged orders from deli counters across Ireland, believed to be the largest recorded depository containing deli counter preferences.

“Every time a customer makes a request to alter an existing deli counter product or goes down the build-your-own roll route, we log that particular order on the system but we were running out of computer storage until we hit upon this idea,” explained Data Centra’s deli software solutions specialist Rajit Mehrotra.

The 14,000 square foot facility which cost close to €200 million was an expensive project but has saved on some expenses with an innovative cooling system which doesn’t rely on local water supply.

“We just backed a few of the shop fridges against a wall, it’s got some Yops in there and they seems to be keeping the facility nice and chill,” added Mehrotra.
