Eastenders Catch-Up: Kathy Beale’s Spacesuit Puncture On Walford’s Mars Bound Rocket Causes Panic

WALFORD remains awash with panic this week as a cut in Kathy Peele’s space suit puts the plan to repair the fault in the Walford Space Agency’s rocket in jeopardy, as it heads perilously close to the surface of the sun.

It’s all go in Soapland, with viewers on tenterhooks hoping Kathy can find a way to seal her suit back up so she can go on a spacewalk and repair the broken ‘Earth returning booster rockets’ which were damaged when Janine Butcher (set to make a sensational return) was found to have put the real results from Ian Beale’s drink-driving breathalyser test on board the space ship in the hopes no one would ever find them.

“With Ian being in jail for running over a kid, this evidence could exonerate Ian and prove he wasn’t driving under the influence,” explained one story editor, forgetting that with the new evidence the fact remains Ian Beale still ran over a kid with his car.

Viewers will have to wait until next Monday to find out if Kathy sealing up her suit with a handkerchief gifted to her by the late Peggy Mitchell will help her avoid having her insides vaporised by exposure to space.

“Fans need to remember that although Kathy is in a race against time, what with being just 20 miles from the sun’s surface, sunburn is not a problem as you’ll remember Kathy bought factor 500 sun cream from Penny Branning’s market stall.

“We’re delighted to have become the 7th UK soap to have a storyline set in space, Eastenders was overdue its moment in the sun, in this case literally,” explained head of story at the soap.
