Meet The Man Who Has Kept All His Snot In A Giant Ball
KNOWN in his own parish and several neighbouring ones as The Snot Man, Liam Munnery has achieved something not yet formally recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records; he is the owner of the world’s largest personally gathered snot ball.
“TO THE likes of you now, you’re probably spotting the giant ball of snot in the corner straight away, but I barely notice it y’know? It’s no different to someone who bites their nails, I do be doing it without evening realising, auto-pilot or snoto-pilot,” Munnery explained from his rural Waterford kitchen.
While other snot obsessives let their snot fascination morph into acting like their nose is a Michelin star restaurant with an all you can eat buffet, Munnery states he’s not ‘disgusting’ like those ‘self-cannibals’ and has never ever tasted his own snot, preferring to keep and preserve every bit of encrusted and wet mucus to leave his nose.
“Attachment me issues? No, not at all. Now you’d be onto something if I also kept all my dry skin, hair and nail clippings but I threw them out last year so no, attachment issues? Moi? Not at all,” explained Munnery.
There was a time Munnery charged a small fee for pictures with the snot ball but after a series of unfortunate instances around Halloween 2017 when local youths lodged a Black Cat banger in the giant snot, the 55-year-old no longer allows the public access to it.
“It’s an awful shame, the grandkids love it, there was one summer he took it outside and younger ones could climb it, you don’t know snot you’ve got til it’s gone as you might say,” local pensioner Sharon Sheen told WWN.
Munnery says there is no grand plan for his snot and that he simply intends to carry on adding to it as he ages.
“Maybe a museum would want it when I die but then part of me thinks I’d like to be buried with it,” concluded Munnery.
