Inspirational Irish Father To Down 50 Pints In One Hour In Honour Of Late Son

AN IRISH father is winning praise and well-wishes from around the country and beyond after word of his attempts to honour the memory of son spread, WWN can share.

David Faolan (57) was seeking to mark the one year anniversary of the passing of his eldest son Michael and hit upon an endurance event to raise money; a 50 pint challenge.

“I’d just be lying to myself and my GoFunders if I said I’d train for a marathon or go to the basecamp of Everest, I’m not arsed,” explained Faolan.

“Being a bit more sensible, I’ll do something I think I can actually achieve and that I think Michael would have loved,” Faolan said of his son who died of liver failure.

The intimidating task ahead of him; downing 50 pints in one hour has been hailed by those online as ‘legendary’ while doctors have said “I’m not treating that eejit, he’s on his own”.

Faolan remains undaunted by the task ahead and believes Michael will be alongside him in spirit.

“No, I said he’ll be in the spirits, he was a demon for the vodka, so my halfway hydration break drink will be a vodka tonic instead of water,” explained Faolan.

So far Faolan has raised €57 for the endeavour and faces accusations that he’s just trying to raise funds for a day in the pub.

“I’m not some hero or anything, I’m just turning my grief into something lovely y’know?” said Faolan, from the edge of the toilet bowl he was puking into after his first pint endurance training session.
