Nation Split On Whether Person Should Die For Shoplifting

THE QUESTION of whether a person should die for shoplifting has divided Ireland this week, with opinion split broadly along the lines of people who have a good grasp of the law and people who don’t particularly care for it when it comes to a certain tone of skin colour.

The question had not previously been considered a question until the news and manner of the death of Yves Sakila spread after he allegedly attempted to shoplift from a shop on Dublin’s Henry Street.

“Woke brigade making a big deal of it again – he knew the law and paid the price,” stated one bystander, apparently unaware that the law in question carries a potential fine or prison sentence, administered by a judge after a court case hears the facts and does not involve an immediate preemptive on-the-street death sentence.

“Seeing a video of a man with the weight of several bodies on top of him for over five minutes, a knee applied to his head, then learning he died, and thinking ‘that’s wrong’ is apparently a controversial opinion in Ireland in 2026,” confirmed one observer.

Experts in ‘that’s enough internet for one day’ confirmed that a search for people supporting a full investigation while declining to wade into unrelated discussions on immigration, housing, race and the price of fuel has sadly come up empty.

“Yeah apparently you can have a split of opinion on something like this,” offered another man. “If that’s the case then we should probably look into killing all those weathered looking wans I see pictured on Crime World every day with over 700 previous shoplifting convictions. Why stop here?”

Elsewhere, opticians confirmed a huge surge in orders for saline solution as people sought to wash their eyes after reading the comments left under coverage of the incident.
