Daniel Kinahan To Plead Guilty To All Charges After Being Threatened With Sharing Cell With Enoch Burke
IRISH AUTHORITIES have secured a huge win before finalising the extradition of Daniel Kinahan from the UAE, after outlining to Kinahan what his stay in prison, while awaiting trial, could entail.
“I’ve never seen a man wail and weep like that, he was terrified,” garda Liam Laherty told WWN, describing the moment Kinahan was threatened with having Enoch Burke for a cellmate.
The ace up the sleeve of authorities, hanging the prospect of being bunk mates with Burke, immediately led Kinahan to offer up pleading guilty to whatever he is charged with as long as it means he won’t be stuck inside with Burke.
“We outlined to him that what would make being paired with Burke all the more soul-crushing is the fact that he is occasionally released from prison, which might come as a relief to Daniel but it wouldn’t be long before the gate-botherer would be back in, doing his head in. America have the death penalty, we have this. I’d argue our option is scarier, the poor fella was admitting to doing JFK,” added Laherty.
Authorities estimate that the ‘Burke Deterrent’ by which the threat of being forced to spend time with Enoch Burke in prison has lead to overall drop of offences across the board, reducing crime by 14%.
Keen to reassure the Irish public that any potential trial involving Kinahan will not repeat the mistakes which saw Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch walk free from the Special Criminal Court, the DPP has confirmed they are more than on top of things this time.
“Don’t worry, Daniel Kinahan, the mastermind of Shergar’s kidnapping will be tried and found guilty for this offence, we have him banged to rights. There is no evading justice in Ireland,” confirmed a DPP statement.
