Waterford Denies Bribing Condé Nast To Be Named Top Of Ireland’s Best Tourist Destinations
IN THE WAKE of being named the best of Ireland’s ‘7 Wonders’ by influential Condé Nast Traveller publication, Waterford has immediately denied allegations of bribery, WWN can report.
“We know the rest of you saw the headlines and were suspicious and confused, but we absolutely didn’t pay them €4mn in unmarked blaas,” confirmed the county this morning, in convincing fashion.
“And frankly we find it offensive that you don’t think an esteemed American publication such as this couldn’t fall in love with being puked on by a drunken Dub outside a Tramore chipper at 1am,” continued the county, which the publication stated said had ‘beautiful beaches’ all along the Copper Coast.
“Is it so hard to believe someone could love us for us? No, of course, you immediately go to accusations of bribery. Typical!” the Deise said to its fellow counties, before stating it would be ‘mere coincidence’ if Condé Nast head offices were to install a state of the art spa in the months ahead.
Elsewhere, Ballybeg residents have called on the Dunmore East, Ardmore and Woodstown areas of the county to help them, as singlehandedly enhancing Waterford’s reputation is proving very exhausting.
