Clocks Will Not Go Forward This Weekend As Extra Hour Stuck In Strait Of Hormuz

THE PLANNED forwarding of the clocks this Sunday morning has been put on hold as the extra hour of light has been held up in the Strait of Hormuz, WWN has learned.

“It’s a real shame, we were all so looking forward to the brighter evenings but until the Strait can offer safe passage the extra hour will have to wait in situ,” EU weather Commissioner Johan Festenberg confirmed.

The process of EU nations procuring an extra hour of daylight involves a complex system with the extra hour built up over the course of six months, harnessing the sun blistering heat in several desert locations in the gulf including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as the European evenings remain dark, before being transported in ship containers and sent to Europe where it is dispersed throughout the continent.

“We appeal to people to have patience, the ongoing conflict has turned the Strait into strategic bit leverage for Iran and its not just affecting fuel. Blame Germany for supplying 30% of Israel’s military imports I say,” added the Commissioner, who is facing questions about why the EU doesn’t keep a back up supply of extra evening light for emergencies such at this.

Those who had their clocks changed in advance or who rely on automated changes have been asked to set their clocks BACK an hour on Sunday.

“The last thing we want is people turning up to work and school early and embarrassed when they realise their mistake” Clock Watch spokesperson Dermot Dinnen told WWN.
