THE IRISH RUGBY team has let out a huge sigh of relief upon learning that local man Patrick Caughlin is willing to forgive them for their performance in the win against Italy on Saturday and last week’s loss to France.

“You won’t find a more passionate rugby supporter than myself, even if my entire support is centred around two things; it’s a valid excuse for pints and they must win every single game without fail,” explained Caughlin, whose positive and rousing words will likely be used by Andy Farrell to rally his players before they face off against England next week.

“I’m being fairly magnanimous now in forgiving them considering there wasn’t a whiff of a bonus point, I’m willing to meet face to face just to let them know how let down I am but that I’ll be the bigger man and not completely stop watching, but in fairness I might as this 6 Nations is already a write off,” added Caughlin.

Speaking on Caughlin’s kind and merciful approach to the team’s fortunes, many experts speculated that knowing a large section of support is solely based on being flawless robotic winning machines should serve as a huge boost to the Irish team.

In the wake of a wave of racists comments on Twitter under a post by the IRFU celebrating Edwin Edogbo’s first Ireland cap, Caughlin was keen to clarify that he had no part in such comments and was just a run of the mill arsehole fan.
