Suppressing Political Dissent, Who’s Doing It Better? US v Iran

NOW IS NOT the time for the media to look on in horror at how two different countries deal with dissent but rather treat it as an amusing sport to maximise viewership and declare one party the winner so they can have the bragging rights, WWN can reveal.

WWN spoke with experts in repression of political opposition to discern if those in the US or Iran are doing it better:

“The poor Iranians have no internet, at least Americans can have TV streaming while their constitution is being dismantled and a security force arbitrarily executes its citizens, this is apples and oranges,” offered one academic specialising in history.

“The Americans are still new to this, they’ve never tried to silence dissent apart from the Red Scare, the Lavender Scare, the Civil Rights Movement, opposition to the Vietnam War, Iraq War, the genocide in Palestine and so on, they’re real amateurs at this and it shows. Iranian government officials can do this stuff in their sleep,” explained a former UN official.

“Pure numbers, you’ve got to hand to the Iranian politicians, the stats don’t lie,” explained one sports analyst.

“It’s a no brainer, one is the American government and the other is called a ‘regime’ so they’re obviously incredibly depraved and corrupt and reach for the suppressive force of state sanctioned violence as a way to make the population fearful, whereas the American government are very civilised as evidenced by their charging of the Federal Reserve chair among others for the crime of not doing exactly as Donald Trump says,” shared one expert in corruption.

“Well according to my friend who is teetering above the abyss of a conspiracy rabbit hole, Mossad is actually the one killing Iranian citizens while also being the Iranian citizens protesting in the first place, so I think it is entirely wrong to give the Iranian authorities any credit for this,” offered one veteran internet comment section reader.
