Entire Nation Left Without Water After Local Woman Pours Leftover Baileys Down Sink

WATERFORD woman Ciara Casey has said she ‘cannot apologise enough’ after ignoring repeated warnings not to pour leftover Baileys down the sink, leaving the entire nation of Ireland completely without water.

Despite multiple news articles and urgent social media warnings circulating over the festive season, the 34-year-old mother-of-two is believed to have emptied the equivalent of two full glasses of Baileys into her kitchen drain, triggering a national water emergency expected to cost the Irish state hundreds of billions of euro.

“I’m so sorry,” a visibly distraught Casey told reporters outside her home this morning, as hundreds of Garda vehicles and personnel cordoned off the Dunmore woman’s property. “I took a social media break so I didn’t see the warnings. Please forgive me. I honestly can’t apologise enough.”

For her own safety, Casey is to be entered into the State’s witness protection programme and is expected to be granted a new identity abroad following thousands of death threats received in the past 24 hours.

“Stupid cow,” Taoiseach Micheál Martin said, commenting on the incident. “Everyone knows by now you don’t pour Baileys down the sink. We’re probably going to have to introduce austerity measures now. She’s lucky we’re relocating her for her own protection or I’d ring her neck myself.”

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and to dispose of all festive cream liqueurs responsibly, preferably the good old fashioned way, by drinking them.
