ANNOUNCING a world tour yesterday afternoon, Carlow singer-songwriter Richie Kavanagh is set to take the global stage after an unlikely collaboration with multi-instrumentalist and DJ Fred Again.

“Feardorcha Arís and myself go way back,” Richie told WWN in an exclusive interview. “We had been working on this track for years and when it dropped I knew it was the banger that would break the planet.”

The remixed track I Love The Smell Of Silage shot to number one on the Spotify charts last month, appearing on Wrapped lists and EDM turntables from Bagenalstown to Trenchtown.

“I am looking forward to headlining Tomorrowland next year,” Richie said, confirming that several more classic remixes will feature in his set, including Mickey’s Buckin’ Ass, The N.C.T. Test and the crowd favourite Aon Focal Eile.

The Raheenwood man, who also released a new book this year titled Craic Stories and Songs, remained coy on rumours of a collaboration with Dua Lipa, but insists global stardom has not gone to his head.

“Do not let the Lamborghini fool you. I am still the same old Richie K,” Kavanagh insisted, before performing several donuts on the street and disappearing into the sunset at high speed, leaving behind a plume of blue tire smoke.
