Bidding War For Paul Murphy’s ‘Long Walk To Freedom’ Memoir Hots Up

BOOK PUBLISHERS have engaged in physical fights at Dublin airport as they await the return of Paul Murphy following his detention and release by Egyptian authorities, with a bidding war for his memoirs expected.

Written during the five hour flight back from Cairo, ‘Long Walk To Freedom’ is believed to chronicle Murphy’s time waiting in a police station for his passport to be returned and having his phone seized.

Approaching 3,000 pages, the winning publisher will have to consider splitting up the memoir into multiple volumes.

“It’s early to be talking movie adaptations but a Chalamet with a shaved head is walking home with the Oscar – it’ll be like Midnight Express without any of the hardship,” confirmed one publisher involved in negotiations.

Murphy was in Egypt to participate in the Global March to Gaza, a further effort to end the blockade on Gaza, something labeled ‘pointless’ by politicians who also think tangible restrictions and sanctions against Israel are also pointless.

“What an idiot; trying something, caring,” shared one government TD, who was unfamiliar with the concept.
