Leinster Fan Would Have Turned Up To URC Final If He Had Known Leinster Were Going To Win

A LONGTIME and passionate Leinster fan has blasted the province’s team and hierarchy for not giving him advance notice of their victory in the URC final against the Bulls.

“You understand it, right? I don’t want to be in the position Munster fans were in, travel all the way to South Africa only to lose in a shootout. Jeopardy, leaving empty-handed, that’s not what being a supporter is all about. It’s about becoming complacent and unmoved by success even if it’s been a few years” explained Dublin native Jonathan Brady.

A record breaking attendance of 47,000 for an Irish set final of the URC still had some people remarking on a sparsely decorated Croke Park, something Brady feels could have been avoided.

“I was robbed of a chance to post a victorious selfie in the old school mates WhatsApp. There’s a LinkedIn post that will never be written because I wasn’t there. Trudging out to Croke Park from Malahide is asking a lot of people unless you know there’s a win to celebrate,” added Brady, who thought it poor form there was no prior communication from Leinster.

Brady remains scarred by the horrible experience of attending his first game of the season, Leinster’s semi-final loss in the Heineken Cup to Northampton.

“Losing to the frogs or something, there’s a glamour in that. Losing to the toffs, you can’t make people take the chunk of their Saturday off for that, it’s not fair,” added Brady, who is calling for a new season ticket tier called the ‘Golden Guaranteed Win Package’.

“It’s the least they could, send an alert on the phone the morning of the game. I’m not saying I’d go either, but it’d come in handy for me and the boys for a Heineken Cup final at least,” concluded Brady.
