Local Man Googles ‘Who Should I Vote For?’ While Filling Out Ballot At Polling Station
“YOU HAVE to do your research at the end of the day,” confirmed local man Niall Beggan setting eyes on his local candidates for the first time as he picked up his ballot paper.
Wondering how to enter the correct phrasing into Google that would result in the most relevant search results, Beggan hastily typed ‘who vote should I for?’ into the search engine as he began filling out the ballot with numbers.
“This is an important responsibility and decision but at the same time I didn’t really get a chance to read up on anything ‘cos there was a lot of good stuff on Netflix and then it was Champion’s League week, but it should be easy enough to boil down the competing ideologies and make a well thought out decision in the next five seconds,” explained Beggan, waiting for a voting booth to free up.
“Googles dead handy for this stuff,” added Beggan, who soon became exhausted from his extensive research and opted to revert to a ‘judging candidates solely on their faces’ approach to voting.
Fully aware of the seismic and varying changes in society that could result from his vote Beggan made sure to give his decision the 10-15 seconds of consideration it needed which also happened to be roughly the time it took him to walk from the front door of his polling station to the voting booth.
“Haha, the big scruffy head on your man. He’s like a potato with a wig. Good enough for me,” said Beggan, giving one candidate who was actually running on a platform of castrating shop lifters and lowering the age of legal marriage to 10 his ironic no.3 preference.
