Supermacs Launch ‘Big MacWhopper’ For The Fucking Craic

IRISH fast food restaurant chain Supermacs has today launched a brand new burger range called the ‘Big MacWhopper’, for no other reason but for the fucking craic, WWN can confirm.

The Galway based chain, who specialise is premium Irish beef burgers, recently won a landmark trademark case against multinational rival McDonalds, who lost its Big Mac trademark in Europe in a David versus Goliath legal battle, thus paving the way for Supermacs to venture further afield into the European market.

In a brief launching ceremony today, the Irish chain added the Big MacWhopper to its current menu, but doesn’t put any faith behind the new sandwich, as it was ‘just a bit of craic’.

“It’s a Big Mac mixed with a Whopper – and that’s all it is, really,” expressed one disappointed man who was sorry he didn’t just go for his regular Mighty Mac meal.

In a landmark judgment by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) last month, the office found that McDonald’s had not proven genuine use of the contested trademark as a burger or as a restaurant name, allowing the Big Mac phrasing to be used by whoever wanted it, if they wanted it.

“I’m just glad I can now freely say and use my own name in public,” insisted local man Gerry MacWilliams, who admitted to living in constant fear of being sued by the American fast food chain.

“I think I can speak for every man, woman and child in Ireland with the ‘Mac’ prefix, when I say ‘thanks, Pat McDonagh, for setting us free’,” he said, before concluding, “you’ll never beat the Irish!”
