Poll: Do We Really Need Pandas?

DESPITE the best efforts of zoologists, conservationists, animal welfare associations, and well-meaning panda lovers across the world, the beloved black-and-white bear remain one of the most threatened species on earth, constantly hovering on the brink of extinction.

With constant drama such as captive pandas refusing to mate, threats from poachers in the wild and millions of dollars of funding poured into the keep-pandas-alive industry every year, questions are being raised as to whether or not the beasts are worth all the hassle.

“It’s a hell of a lot of effort for what appears to be the same one damn bear over and over again” stated one commentator on the ‘they’ve had their day’ side, at a recent ‘fuck pandas’ protest rally.

“There’s animals that get endangered, but seem to pull themselves up out of it with a bit of help from us… but pandas, Jesus, they just either don’t want help or they’re just not bothered. ‘Save the pandas’, how long have you been hearing that? And they’re still in danger? They’re almost as bad as the fucking whales. There comes a time when you have to say alright pandas, you’re on your own from now”.
