Waterford Confident They’ll Lead Against Kilkenny Before Losing In The Last Minute

THE COUNTY is abuzz in the run up the All Hurling semi-final replay with Kilkenny, with many hopeful locals quietly confident Waterford will have victory snatched from their grasp in the last minute after leading for much of the game.

“Listen, the days of approaching these games with trepidation are over. The lads have been phenomenal, they’re good enough and we’re behind them every step of the way, until Kilkenny inevitably breaks our hearts right at the death,” hurling mad Waterford city man Trevor Kilgallon explained to WWN.

Many seasoned followers of Waterford have expressed their shock at just how assured supporters are of securing a rare last gasp defeat at the hands of the 36-time All Ireland winners.

This sort of new found confidence is typical of Waterford supporters who have been buoyed by excellent displays by their senior hurling team in recent years and was echoed by those we spoke with.

“Oh, we’re going to bash them for 69 minutes, hound them into the ground. Then obviously they’ll grab a goal or something in added time and the family will drive home from Semple Stadium in teary silence,” Dunmore East native Andrew Higgins shared with WWN.

“Anything is a victory really after the fuckers failed to beat us last week,” Higgins conceded, brimming with confidence.
