FINANCE Minister Michael Noonan spent this morning receiving congratulations from his fellow Fine Gael party members, following his appointment to a new post at the Ministry of Sound.

The Limerick TD, a longtime fan of hardcore techno, will begin his stint in the popular London dance venue in April, with a possibility of performing some sets in Ibiza during the Summer.

Noonan, a Fine Gael TD for almost 35 years, has held the positions of Minister for Justice, Minister for Industry and Commerce and Minister for Health before becoming the party’s spokesperson on finance in 2010, before taking up the post of Minister for Finance when Fine Gael came into power in 2011.

Seeking a new challenge, Noonan applied for a transfer to the Ministry of Sound, and is said to be delighted with the news that he will take to the decks in one of the world’s most famous dance venues.

“We’re looking forward to DJ Noon dropping some sick beats this Summer,” said James Palumbo, founder of the Ministry Of Sound.

“We listened to his demo tape, produced by his own record label Fine Gales, and we were blown away. We’ve got him on the bill in April with Tiesto, which should be one hell of a night”.

In Minister Noonan’s absence during his time at the Ministry Of Sound, Fine Gael has confirmed that his duties as Minister for Finance will be performed by acclaimed German rave duo Stoneface & Terminal.
