THE SOCIAL MEDIA world rejoiced today after Pistorius Judge Thokozile Masipa ordered all witness statements must be 140 characters or less.

The decision to crack down on lengthy testimonies came about this morning after a witness for the defence took several minutes answering questions relating to the trial.

A furious Judge Masipa called for a ten minute recess, before returning with the new court order.

“How are we supposed to live tweet all that gibberish?” she asked. “I’m imposing a hundred and forty character limit for the remainder of this trial. Otherwise, we could be here for another three weeks.”

Lawyers on both sides of the court were also ordered to restrict all questions to the character limit.

“If you can’t ask a question in a tweet then there is no point in continuing this trial.” stated the judge, whose groundbreaking approach to televised trials has astounded the world.

The new ruling comes just one week after Ms. Masipa controversially demanded “Instagram only” pictures to be admissible as evidence in his court.

The Oscar Pistorius trial is expected to last one more week.
