THE IRISH nation came to the realisation today that RTE’s long running program The Late Late Show is pure fucking muck, and should be taken off the air to save the country any more embarrassment.

Absolutely everyone came to the conclusion over the week-end following a extremely poor line up on Friday nights show.

“It was like RTE forgot to arrange guests for the show and quickly ran around Donnybrook looking for anyone who was available in the studio grounds.” said one viewer.

Ex-newsreader, Anne Doyle, said she was just collecting a letter proving her previous employment with the station for the ‘rent allowance crowd’ when she was approached by a producer to appear on the show.

“They said they were stuck and asked me to fill in for a few minutes while they gathered up the entire cast of Fair City.” she told WWN earlier. “They were apparently filming nearby and were being herded into several 7 seaters while I was on the air.”

Sources at the national broadcaster said none of the fair city cast actually knew what they were doing there, and actor Jim Bartley, who plays Bella Doyle in the series, was just picked randomly out of a hat to appear on the show, while his colleagues looked on.

“Everyone was just making up stories about Jim as the show progressed.” said one cast member. “When someone said Jim could sing, we knew our cover was blown.”

Following some egging on by off camera producers, the ageing star was pushed up to sing a song he did not even know the words to,  in front of an intrigued nation.

“I fucking murdered it.” he admitted later. “Even Don Baker said I was shit….DON FUCKING BAKER!”

Following the display of madness, several tourists were paid two hundred euros each to appear on the show and pretend they were learning Irish dancing abroad.

“When your Asian lad got up dancing; it was all over.” said presenter Ryan Tubridy. “It was probably not one of our better shows.”

RTE have since apologised for the show and have pledged to deduct 50 cent from next years licence fee.
