YER MAN from that thing has passed away last night in New York aged 86, it was reported earlier today.
The actor, who was on loads of things on TV, was said to be suffering from a short illness at the time.
Minister for Arts, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan said he would be remembered for the quality of his performances in a range of challenging and memorable roles.
“His portrayal of that fella doing the things in that place was definitely one of my favourite performances of all time.” said the minister. “Shit. No wait, sorry, that was that other guy I was thinking of!
“I always get the two mixed up.” he added.
Yer man first became popular ages ago and appeared in numerous TV and films over the past 50 years, including the Shakespeare one about the couple.
He also portrayed a priest in that funny Irish film with the red-haired young fella and the talking statue of Holy Mary.
Mr Deenihan said the actor had reached the widest audiences across the globe and will always be internationally recognised as ‘your man from the thing’.
“I would like to express my deep condolences to who ever his family is.” he added.
Sources say yer man is believed to be survived by numerous people and was probably married to a woman at some stage.
